Our Board Certified Radiologists
Byron H. Christie, MD
Dr. Christie is a Diplomate of the American Board of Radiology. He attended medical school at Baylor College of Medicine and completed his residency at Baylor University Medical Center. Following completion of his residency, Dr. Christie established his practice in San Angelo, TX at San Angelo Community Medical Center where he was the Chief of Radiology, Executive Committee member, Vice Chief of Staff and later, Incoming Chief of Staff. He also served as President of Concho Valley County Medical Society and Chief of Radiology for Duncan Regional Medical Center. Dr. Christie is currently the Medical Director for LakePointe Imaging Center and Community Hospital as well as Servant Imaging for the Oklahoma City market. He is most interested in image guided, minimally invasive procedures, especially in regards to the spine.
Richard F. Costello, Jr., DO
Dr. Costello attended medical school at the University of North Texas Health Science Center and earned his residency in radiology at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. Following his residency, he completed a fellowship in Musculoskeletal Imaging. Dr. Costello is a Diplomate of the American Board of Radiology. Currently, he is the Medical Director for Servant Imaging in the Oklahoma City market.

Kevin Sutter

Mr. Sutter’s background in Radiology started in 1981 while working as a field engineer with Siemens Medical. After moving to Medical Imaging Inc. at Southwestern Hospital in Lawton in 1990, he performed administrative duties as well as MRI and CT services learning every aspect of outpatient Radiology. In 1995, Mr. Sutter founded the first free-standing imaging center in southwest Oklahoma (The Imaging Center & Open MRI) and was majority owner and CEO for 10 years. After giving much thought to the healthcare crisis in the United States, Mr. Sutter brought a new idea and innovation to outpatient Radiology. By keeping costs low and outsourcing, Doctors MRI is bringing real change to Imaging by guaranteeing patients the lowest out-of-pocket cost.
Rhonda Sherrer

Rhonda Sherrer attended Great Plains Technology Center in Lawton, OK and graduated from the Radiology Technology program in September 1995. She then began her career at Comanche County Memorial Hospital (CCMH) in Lawton. In the winter of 1998, she became the Mammography Director at Frederick Memorial Hospital and began cross-training in CAT scan. In 1999, she began working at The Imaging Center and Open MRI, where she was cross-trained in MRI and was promoted to Technologist Supervisor in May 2001. Rhonda routinely performed X-Rays, CAT scans, Mammography and MRI while employed there. In 2006, Rhonda returned to CCMH as a CT/MRI Technologist where she received her high field 1.5T training. In 2008, she left CCMH to become a business partner and technologist at Doctors MRI. Rhonda is also employed by Kell West Regional Hospital in Wichita Falls, TX as a part-time weekend X-ray, CAT scan and Surgery X-Ray tech. She married Steve in July 2007. Rhonda is an active member of the Oklahoma Medical Reserve Corp, ASRT, ARRT, RBMA and holds current national registries in Radiology, Mammography, CAT scan and MRI.
Melissa Veal

Melissa joined the Doctors MRI team in October 2010. She was raised near Daytona, Florida. Melissa attended the University of Florida for two years. After two years of college, she decided to follow her heart and attend the Arizona School of Massage Therapy in Phoenix, AZ where she graduated in 2001. Melissa has been a practicing massage therapist for over 10 years now. She married in 2007 and has two little girls. Melissa truly enjoys people and brings excellent communication skills to her position as the Marketing Coordinator.
Angela Smith

Angela joined the Doctors MRI team in January 2011 and handles the initial contact with patients as the Administrative Assistant. Angela was born and raised in Lawton where she attended Eisenhower High School. She is currently a sophomore at Cameron University where she is studying psychology and business.
Levy Kemp

Levy was born to her mother, Geneva Cummings, in South Carolina and moved to Lawton at six months of age. She married Gregory Kemp in 1987 and has two children; Brihanna and Andrew. Levy was employed by both Comanche County Memorial Hospital and Southwest Oklahoma Family Medicine and Residency Clinic before coming to Doctors MRI. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, along with her hobbies of cooking, playing bingo and traveling.
